Our Story

Keeping Newari Craft Alive, One Order at a Time

Guthi Collections began with a simple frustration: authentic Newari clothing was almost impossible to find in the UK. Families wanted to dress for Dashain, weddings and festivals with pieces that felt true to home — not mass-produced imitations.

So we went back to the source. Today we partner with weaving families in Bhaktapur, Patan and Kathmandu who have passed their craft down for generations, and we ship their work directly to you in Britain.

A guthi is a Newar community institution built on shared responsibility. Our promise is simple: fair pay for our artisans, honest fabrics, and traditional wear you can be proud to pass on.
